Quick manners check.

Did you say please?

If your message reads like “hello??”, add “please”.

Two messages. One makes things awkward.

Same ask, different landing. One reads as pressure, one reads as respect.

Without please

“Send this now.”

With please

“Could you send this when you have a minute, please?”

You spent more time writing this than adding one polite word.

This lands the same with family, neighbours, strangers, and everyone in between.

How to sound sharp, not sharp-edged

  • Start with context Not a demand.
  • Use “please” once Not five times. You are asking, not auditioning.
  • Close with thanks When someone helps. Your future self will enjoy this.

This isn’t about being fake nice.

It’s about sounding human.

🧠 ☕

Saying please is easy. Often, that’s the difference.
